Zoom Clips lets you create a screen recording on your computer and send a link so others can view it.

This should be used when reporting an issue to the OUM Help Desk, so we can see directly what the issue is.

Clips can be created in the Zoom desktop app for your computer, but not the Zoom mobile app.

Basic Steps

In Zoom Desktop app, select "Clips" in upper menu, and click "Create clip".

In the "Create Clip" window, click "Start Recording" at the bottom.

Record your clip and click the red "Finish" button with the clock timer.

Below your new clip, on the right side click the "Copy link" button next to "Share", and send it to others.

Detailed steps

In the upper menu, the "Clips" section is on the right side. Clip "Create clip" and a pop-up window will open.

In the pop-up, at the top is a preview of how your clip will appear.

You can click "Screen" to record your entire desktop, or select a specific app.

If you select a specific app only that app, and no other content, will be shown in the recording.

The default is to capture "Screenshare and video". Your "video" is recorded by your computer camera and is shown in a small window in the lower left, but you can drag to relocate it.

You can change this to "Screenshare only" (green arrow) or "Video only" (orange arrow).

Below that is the clip title.

The default is: "Your name" + "Clip" + "Date".

You can click here and enter any title (maximum 50 characters).

Below that are the audio and camera options. You can disable this by clicking the icon (green arrow), or click the drop-down and choose an option, such as "none" (orange arrow).

Below that, the "Advanced Setting" section has visual options such as "Virtual Background" and audio options such as "Noise suppression".

Click "Start Recording" and you'll see a 3-second countdown before recording begins. A pop-up setting bar will show options for audio/video, pause, cancel, and a red "Finish" button with the clock timer.

Options after recording

Click "Finish" and you'll see the page for this clip.

At the top is a window with your clip. You can click "Trim" in the lower-right to edit the start or stop time.

Emojis are below the clip. If you click one, it'll appear on the lower-left of the clip. To remove it, hover over that and click the "Trash" button to the right of your name.

To the right, you can click "Share" to email this directly, copy the "Shareable link" to send, edit the "Link access" with the drop-down at the bottom, or set a password to view with "More setting" in the lower-right.

The "Copy Link" button is next to the "Download" button.

The ellipsis (3-dots) button lets you start this video to conveniently find it, or move it to trash.

Below that is the "Edit basic information" section, for the thumbnail, title, description, and tags.

To edit thumbnail, click on it. Then on the thumbnail image, hover your mouse and scroll up/down to zoom in/out, or slide the bar below the image.
