Support has received several questions from students concerned about setting their time zone in SIS and Moodle. This article explains how this can be changed on both websites, and SIS will alert you if the two are mismatched.
In Moodle:
1. Click on your name in the top right corner of your screen, then select "Preferences" from the options that appear.
2. From the "Preferences" page, in the "User account" section, click on the "Edit Profile" option.
3. From the "Edit profile" page, in the "General" section, scroll down to the "Timezone" option.
In the drop-down menu, select the nearest Region/City that is in your time zone.
Then scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click on "Update Profile".
In SIS:
1. Click on your name in the top right corner of your screen.
2. From the "User Profile" page, click on the "Make Changes" button, below your name.
3. Then scroll down to the "Timezone" option, below the "Other email address" section.
In the "Timezone" menu, type your city name into the search bar, or select the nearest Region/City that is in your time zone.
Then scroll to the top of the page, and click on "Save Changes".
Mismatch of SIS and Moodle:
If you set different time zones in SIS and Moodle, then you will see a notification in the top left of the SIS Home Page, which informs you if "Your Moodle profile lists a different time zone from your SIS Profile."
It has 2 links to the "Edit Profile" pages in SIS and Moodle to help you change them, and it is your responsibility to manually select the same Region/City across both systems.
